Professor Zhu Jia from Nanjing University was invited to give an academic lecture to the teachers and students of our university

On the afternoon of September 8, 2022, when Teachers' Day was approaching, Professor Zhu Jia from Nanjing University was invited to the meeting Room 506, Building A9, Ming Imperial Palace Campus of Nanjing University to deliver an academic report entitled "Photothermal Regulation Based on Micro/Nano Structures". The conference was chaired by Professor Zhang Zhuhua, Academician Guo Wanlin and more than 50 teachers and students of Nanometrics Institute attended the conference.




Professor Zhang Zhuhua first to professor Chen Zhu Jia academic background, research experience and scientific research achievements made simple introduction, then professor Zhu Jia first tells the story of using molecular and nanoscale hierarchical design, was prepared in the infrared transmission and efficient selective polymer nanofibers film reflect sunlight, so as to realize the high-performance all-weather radiation cooling performance. On this basis, the photothermal air water intake device is developed, and its kinetic adsorption and desorption characteristics are improved. Finally, Professor Zhu Jia introduced the photothermal effect based on the micro world, developed the liquid metal spinning coating process combined with controlled cooling technology, and successfully obtained high quality sodium metal microstructure.




Professor Zhu Jia's report resonated strongly with the teachers and students present. Academician Guo Wanlin fully affirmed Professor Zhu Jia's work and called on the teachers and students of NanofU to learn from Professor Zhu Jia's innovative thinking and hardworking spirit in scientific research. In the last interactive session, teachers and students eagerly asked questions. Professor Zhu Jia answered the questions in detail and had an in-depth discussion with them. This report greatly inspired teachers and students, deepened their understanding of the research field of micro/nano structure photothermal regulation, opened up and excavated innovative scientific research thinking, and helped the benign development of scientific research in the future.




Brief Introduction of the Speaker:

Professor Zhu Jia, Professor of Nanjing University, doctoral supervisor, winner of National Outstanding Youth Fund, member of Science and Technology Commission of the Ministry of Education, Member of Optical Society of America, member of Royal Society of Chemistry, has long been engaged in the research of photothermal regulation based on micro-nano structure. He received his Bachelor's degree in physics from Nanjing University and his Master's degree and Doctor's degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University. He then worked at the University of California, Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He has published more than 100 papers in international high-impact academic journals such as Nature, Nature series, National Science Review, Joule, Advanced Materials, etc. He has been cited more than 10,000 times. He is also the executive editor of Nanophotonics and the editorial board of Advanced Photonics and Nano Research. Recent awards include the Science Discovery Award, the Tan Kah Kee Young Science Award, and the MIT Technology Review Global Innovator.
